A turtle lived on the banks of a beautiful lake.
Along with him lived two swans who became his best friends.
They would often sit together and gossip .
The swans would tell the turtle stories of new places.
But one year, the lake started drying up, all the aquatic creatures became worried,
the swans decided that they would go far away to find another lake.
The tortoise also wanted to go with them, but he could not fly, so
the two swans started finding a solution to his dilemma.
Finally he thought of a solution, he picked up a stick,
told the turtle to keep the stick in his mouth,
the two swans would hold the ends of the stick,
fly, and take the turtle to the new lake.
“But remember,” the swans warned the tortoise,
“you must keep quiet, don’t say anything, just keep the stick pressed down.”
They took off, everything was going well,
when suddenly people below saw them and began making noise.
The tortoise began to speak in eagerness, forgetting to keep quiet,
and as soon as he opened his mouth, he fell down and met his end.
The moral of the story is that speaking without thinking
can sometimes prove very dangerous and have tragic consequences.
